The Transfiguration of God (706 hits)

PHIL 2;5-6. He Jesus took on himself the "form" of a servant. The word "form" comes from the Greek "Morphe" meaning "character" role. One would play a character in a theatre, would be said to "take on" a role play. in this case God took on flesh and played the character of a servant.

The word "Morphe" comes from the English metamorphose (strong #3339) to "transfigure" that is move "shape" to take on the shape of someone in order to reveal something. As in "transfiguration" Jesus was seen as light so in the incarnation God was seen in Jesus. Without this movement God would be invisible. It is the visible Jesus hat reveals the invisible character of God who as God's servant, grants unto us the gift of salvation whereby we can say salvation is of the Lord for the Lord has "become" my light and my salvation.
